A Little Bit of Sugar

You may want to save the Limo for an anniversary date or another really special occasion although it would certainly impress her. However, with it being your first date, hiring a car may turn against you and show her something which you are not. Regardless you obviously will want to look your best, whether you hire a car or not. Be sure that you have a fresh shave and by all means get a haircut. Nothing appears to annoy a woman more on a date than her mystery man turning up looking like he has not made an effort.

You don’t need to go all out and wear a tux, but you should dress in a clean, presentable manner. Since it’s your first date you should dress accordingly to wear you plan on going. The goal is to not outshine your date; you want her to be the centre of your attention, not whether or not your tie is on correctly.

Keep the Conversation Going

A certain amount of quiet time gazing into each other’s eyes over dinner can be a pleasant moment but any longer and you suddenly become a bore. If you spot her suddenly darting her eyes around the room you have lost her attention. Do not ogle over your date with your eyes; instead open your mouth and start talking to her.

If you are having a hard time finding something to say then you could always begin by complimenting her. Women love getting compliments, especially when they are comments about her personality and not only her appearance. After all, you want her to know that what you like about her is more than just skin deep.

If you still feel like you don’t really know her that well you can always ask her about some scenario in your life. If you allow her to pitch in on an issue that matters to you she begins to feel confident that you value her opinion. This also allows you the opportunity to gauge her personality on a more valuable level.

Show Some Manners

One of the easiest ways to make sure you make a good impression should be something that comes naturally to you. Be a gentleman and take the time to open the car door for her if you hire a stylish car. What’s more, you should pull out her chair for her and help her into and out of her coat. These little measures speak volumes for the way you treat a woman. If she isn’t the type of woman that appreciates this sort of chivalry then she will surely let you know.

When you do these things for her don’t do them and hang around for a compliment. Simply work them into your behaviour as if they were natural. Even if it’s not something you do on a regular basis you will most likely realise that they come naturally. You will get a feel for the right amount of chivalry. You don’t have to open every single door the entire date; that would be a bit of overkill. But if you have gone so far as the hiring a Mercedes then you may want to show your manners here to make it a truly wonderful experience.
