Why Are Charms So Popular?

The tradition of putting charms on a bracelet goes back thousands of years and the original purpose of the charm bracelet was religious. By the time it got to the Victorian era charm bracelets had lost their meaning and were reinvented into fashion accessories with intricate and individual designs. The favorite charms of the Victorian era were small dangling lockets which held portraits of close family members. The popularity of the charm bracelet was again resurrected in World War two when soldiers would take charms from Europe home to their families. This same idea has carried on to the present day and avid charm collectors will collect charms from everywhere they visit as a memento of their experience.

Nowadays charm bracelets are a popular accessory all over the world and their popularity does not seem to be in decline. There are some huge brands that specialise in charms, bracelets and necklaces and there are then the general charms that you can get hold of for much lower prices. Pandora, Chamilia and Troll beads are some of the biggest brands; their charms range from around £20 all the way into the thousands – depending on what you prefer and your budget – showing exactly why they are so popular with the rich and famous and the general public alike.

Pandora in particular has become extremely popular all over the world for a variety of reasons. The charms are individual and allow you to create unique look, they make great gifts for people of all ages and every occasion. They are the must have item for all women and celebrities alike; they are quality pieces of jewellery that don’t have to cost the earth – although they will do if you choose the 14 carat gold charms.

Now though you can expand your love for Pandora with a Pandora necklace. The necklaces work in exactly the same way as the bracelets and are once again completely customisable. With the necklace you could load it up with all of your favourite charms or even keep it minimalistic with one or two of the special charms that you own.

The necklaces are available in gold, silver and leather just like the bracelets and you can build it up in the shop or do it over time in order to categorise the major points of your life.
However, just because you have a Pandora bracelet or necklace doesn’t mean that you can’t mix and match with your charms.
