The Top Scenes in Entertainment that Show the Wonder of Weddings

A wedding is a partnership between two people who love another. While, at times, the bride and groom might believe that the wedding is all about flowers, seating arrangements, appetizers and registries, none of this will matter in the end. When it all comes down to it, it's about two people declaring their love for one another and committing to a lifetime of happy times and bad times. But such is life, and it is a beautiful thing. The wedding ceremony is a once in a lifetime event for a couple, and the magic of the night would make anyone want to get ordained to preside over the event. With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the best wedding scenes to illustrate the beauty of the wedding ceremony.

  • My Best Friend's Wedding: You're going to see Julia Roberts again on this list. She's a Rom-Com queen. In this movie, she plays a woman who is best friends with Dermot Mulroney and realizes once he's gets engaged that she was in love with him the whole time. She spends the rest of the movie trying to ruin the wedding, but in the end, she gives in. She gives a fantastic toast during the reception, which goes to show the power of both love and friendship.
  • Love Actually: This is an interesting pick because it's juxtaposed with a funeral. However, it's beautiful mainly for the "All You Need is Love" choir selection surprise by the best man. Although, this will be later changed when the best man declares his love for the bride, the scene itself is wonderful. The movie is a testament to the power of love, no matter the situation. The movie was made as a response to 9/11.
  • Runaway Bride: A movie about a bride who runs away before the completion of the ceremony? You wouldn't think this movie would make the list, but the Richard Gere proposal is beautiful and true. Bonus points for a wedding that involves horse riding. This is movie number two for Julia Roberts
  • The Office: The Niagara Falls/Forever montage is wonderful and shows the love that Jim and Pam have for one another, and the love the people of the office have for their fellow workers. It's truly a tearjerker for a sitcom.
