The problem with owning a car is the amount of money they take to run. I have a hard time keeping up with the expenses, be it tax, insurance, MOT and that’s not even including the petrol. To be honest some weeks I have to go without my car simply because money is so tight. So you can imagine my pain when the car failed the MOT. It needed hundreds of pounds of work on it and I felt that I had no option but to scrap it and forget about owning a car until work picked up again.
My husband on the other hand was not so keen on scrapping the car. He hates to walk and loves the fact that he can jump in the car in the morning and run the kids to school before he drives into work for the day. He told me not to listen to the guys at the garage; he would be able to sort out all the problems with the car for a lot less. He called his mate and they got together to discuss what could be done.
Find Affordable Parts Online and Save a Fortune
Our family friend tinkers with cars so I knew he would be able to do some of the work for us. He told me to look online at a website where I could find cheap parts while he had a look over our vehicle. I found a great website and the prices seemed cheap so when the guys came back in I was told what I needed to look for. The website had everything we needed thankfully and the cost of each part was really affordable. I was able to get everything we needed, from the brake pads to the cylinder heads. All I had to do to find the right parts was to put in the make and model of the car along with the year, engine and the fuel that it used.
We ordered everything online and it arrived really quickly. My husband and our friend spent a week sorting everything out and all the cost us was time, food and a few drinks on the Friday night to say thank you.
The car passed the MOT and we had saved ourselves a few hundred quid. It’s amazing how much you can save if you buy your own parts online. Even if you need the engineer to do the work for you it will still make a big difference to your bill. Don’t pay more than you need to. Use the Internet and the brilliant services that can save us car owners heaps of money.
