Lamborghini Veneno Roadster

Lamborghini celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and they have decided to mark this milestone by launching another super car, that will be one of the fastest, most powerful, most expensive cars in the world. This Italian car maker is known for making high-end, luxury sports cars, often in limited editions, which makes them quite exclusive. The car they introduced at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, is definitely one of the most exclusive cars anyone has ever made. It's the Veneno Roadster, that is incredibly expensive, extremely fast, and is only available in a limited edition of 9 units in total.

Originally, the company only made 3 examples, which were sold even before the car went on sale officially, but they recently announced that they plan on building another 6 units. The Veneno Roadster is the latest super car made by Lamborghini, that obviously features an amazing design and an outrageous engine under its hood. It is powered by a 6.5-liter, V12 engine, able for delivering 750 horsepower. It is coupled with a 7-speed semi-automatic transmission, that allows the car to go from 0 to 62 mph in only 2.9 seconds, and reach a top speed of 220 mph. It features a permanent four-wheel drive, which along with the racing chassis and push-rod suspension provides performances similar to those of a true racing car.

It's based on the Lamborghini Aventador platform, and features a body made of lightweight carbon fiber, resulting in a great power-to-weight ratio of 4,25 hp/lbs, and a curb weight of 3,285 lbs. It has great aerodynamic capabilities, thanks to the huge spoilers in the rear, an extremely low front end, a couple of outlets in the hood, and large openings and channels in various places that help keep the engine cool. The undercarriage features four exhaust pipes, divided by a splitter, which provide increased downforce and help you get around corners pretty easily.

As far as the interior is concerned, it features some pretty cool and innovative solutions, too, just like the exterior design. There are lots of surfaces made of carbon fiber, such as parts of the seats and the headliner. There are two bucket seats made of Forged Composite, a material that Lamborghini has patented a while ago, and are wrapped in carbon-fiber CarbonSkin. They are very lightweight, as well, which helps reduce the car's curb weight and make it faster and more flexible.

Although the Veneno Roadster has the abilities and performances of a real racing car that can hit the race tracks and compete with the fastest cars in the world, it is a road car that can be bought by anyone who can afford it and driven on the highway just as any other road car. However, the first three units have already been bought, but there will be another six of them available for purchase. If you want to buy one and join a pretty exclusive club of Veneno Roadster owners, you will have to splurge about $4.5 million.
