The Safest Places to Stay in Jamaica

Share:
Jamaica is a happening place; it is so full of beauty with a lively nightlife. It also is known for its criminal activity, so I recommend all tourists stay safe by fully preparing for the adventure ahead.  Look around for Caribbean hotel deals about a year in advance. You’ll want a good value and these tend to fill up quickly (especially around spring break and Christmas), so don’t put it off.

Safest Places in Jamaica

Negril
Bourbon Beach is one of the safest places to stay in Jamaica. This hotel is on Seven Mile beach, and it doubles as a party location. They serve delicious food including the best Jerk chicken in Jamaica and an endless supply of rum. Dancing on the beach with the best sunsets in the Caribbean makes for an incredible party. Hotel guests don’t have to pay to experience the live music, which is nice because you will avoid walking the streets at night, or hailing a taxi while intoxicated.

Seven Mile Beach
On the same Seven Mile Beach is Couples Swept Away. This is a great place because of their commitment to guest service and activities available like Jamaican cooking classes. They have tasty food and drinks available right on the beach and a fully equipped gym for those who want to burn off some of those buckets of shrimp. This is a great place for couples on honeymoons and parents wanting a break from their kids.

Montego Bay
Half Moon is a great luxurious hotel that gives you the option to buy all inclusive with meals or just room only. If you are looking for spacious rooms and privacy, this place is right for you. You’ll be just steps away from the beach and Margaritaville, which is a super fun restaurant and bar with a waterslide! I’m saving up for another stay Round Hill Hotel and Villas. This hotel is worth splurging on because of the secluded beaches and the timeless elegance it offers. It also makes river tubing in the jungle available which was one of my favorite things about Jamaica. The sights from the river are to die for, and we had a friendly guide that told us jokes and stories about his childhood in Jamaica.

Ocho Rios
Jamaica Inn offers an elegant resort experience at an affordable price. While staying in Ocho Rios, I always try to go to this Inn at least one night. It is the most relaxing hotel I have experienced yet and one of the safest in all of Jamaica. If you are doing a honeymoon trip or celebrating some other special occasion, go to Jamaica Inn to rest up for the adventures ahead. The beach it is located on is pristine, and makes for a magical romantic setting.

There are a ton of resorts and hotels to choose from in Jamaica. Stick to the popular tourist locations above in Negril, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios to have the safest stay.
