Spread over a vast area, you will be impressed by this sandstone structure which was built by Akbar but his descendants added other buildings to the fort complex.

Diwan-e-aam, Diwan-e-Khas, Moti Masjid and Musanman Burj are the main tourist attractions of the complex. It is beleieved that Aurangzeb kept his father, Shah Jahan captive in Musanman Burj until he died seven years later. The heartbroken emperor would watch the jeweled tomb of his wife from the window of his tower. Do not forget to catch a view of Taj from Musanman Burj.

Fatehpur Sikri is the deserted city of Akabar. It was supposedly India's first planned city. You will see a number of wonderful palaces, minarets, mosques and gardens. Visit the Birbal's house in the ruined city who was one of Akbar's most favorite navaratnas.
