Why to go to the World Cup in Brazil 2014
This post aims to persuade at least a couple of you to think about whether you want to travel to Brazil in 2014 for the biggest sporting event the world has ever seen, yes that’s right the Fifa World Cup is being held in this fantastic country. In no particular order, here are the top reasons why you should start looking at your schedule for June/July in 2014.

Amazing Country
Brazil truly is an amazing with a population of over 190 million people this is one of the worlds biggest countries spread over a vast area including the Amazon rain forest.  The country has more to offer than football including all the major attractions and events one has in their mind of Brazil. In Rio de Janeiro alone there are the following attractions:
  1. Sugar Loaf Mountain
  2. Christ the Redeemer Statue
  3. Pedra de Gavea Mountain
  4. Ipanema Beach
  5. And many more.
Brand New Stadiums
If you are used to Wembley Stadium or the Allianz Arena in Munich then you have nothing to worry about, the stadiums in Brazil are some of the best in the world and also there are brand new stadiums built with the World Cup in mind.

Brazil 2014 World Cup

Within the past few weeks two stadiums have just been completed, the Mineirão stadium in Belo Horizonte and the Castelão stadium in Fortaleza.
With capacities from 50,000 up to 99,000 at the Maracana 14 Stadiums from all over the country from north to south will hold the games.

The People.
The people of Brazil are some of the most friendliest and passionate people in the world.  Whether you need help catching a bus to the stadium or simply need to know how to get to the local tourist attraction then the locals will help you no doubt. As with passion, Brazilians are famous for being relaxed, passionate and fun-loving people. If you want to go to the world cup for party then you are choosing the right place.

The vast majority of the population speaks Portuguese so its best to brush up on this language before you go. The other main languages of the Brazilian population include English and French in the major cities but do not expect people to speak to you in these languages outside of these places.

Home of Football
Whilst it is argued that England is the home of football because of the history and origin it is also argued that Brazil really is the home. Having won the World Cup a record 5 times Brazil lay claim to the best football nation in the world. Brazil has not hosted this tournament since 1950 when they lost to neighbors Uruguay.

The atmosphere in Brazil during the world cup truly will be amazing and the fact that the country has never been excited this promises to be the best world cup ever.
World Cup 2014 tickets will be sold-out the minute they are released and therefore most of the population will watch the games in the local parks where live screens will be constructed. When Brazil are playing expect to be outnumbered, this place will be crazy.

We would love to hear any travel tips from people that have experienced Brazil as a place to be whilst a major event is taking place. Be warned, if you go to Brazil for the world cup then expect nothing but sun, sea, fun and lots of goals. See you there!!!
